Carla A. Manns

      First Lady Carla A. Manns is the wife of Overseer G. A. Manns, senior pastor of Appleton Sanctuary Outreach Ministries, Inc. She is the mother of three beautiful children Allayah, Alexsis, and Elijah Manns. She has been a member of Appleton Sanctuary Outreach Ministries for over twenty-one years. She serves in the ministry as a board member, treasurer, praise and worship leader and does outreach within the prison ministry and feeding the homeless. First Lady Manns believes in making a difference in her community as well. She has been effective on many community boards, providing a voice for those who are often not heard, and she shines a light on issues concerning the recognition of cultural differences and injustices of African Americans in her community. 

She volunteers for several organizations in her community

including the Salvation Army, African Heritage Inc. and the Homeless Connection.


  In January 2020, she received the Fox Valley Jane LaChapelle, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award. In June 2018, she received the 2018 Sistah Power Award for her long-standing work in her community. In October 2018, she received the Grace International Fellowship Community Service Award.


     She was one of the leaders for the largest multi-level Girl Scout Troop in Northeast Wisconsin for seven years and has now helped create the Girl Power Group for Northeast Wisconsin. As an entrepreneur of two salon businesses, she is the first African American to have two salon businesses within the Sola Salon business franchise in the United States. Her present clientele stretches from Upper Michigan, Wisconsin, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with an array of individuals from many cultural backgrounds. In 2018 she wrote and self-published her first book, "I Am My Sister's Keeper", which encourages women to be self-motivated in helping them move forward in their spiritual walk with Christ.

She is currently a student at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, where she is studying for her degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing. She received her small business certificate from Fox Valley Technical College, her cosmetology licensing from Empire Beauty School, her cosmetology managerial licensing from Madison, Wisconsin, and Advanced Hair Care and Mastery Stylist Certificate from Dudley School of Hair Design in Chicago, Illinois.


She loves the Lord and believes that if you take care of his needs, he will take care of yours. First Lady Carla A. Manns holds her head up, understanding her favorite scripture, Galatians 6:9 "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
